Redmaids’ High School
Redmaids’ High School is an independent school based in Bristol providing outstanding all-round education for girls aged 7 – 18. It is the UK’s oldest existing girls’ school and has approximately 600 students.
The Brief
In November 2014, the school wanted to advertise a single vacancy for a hard to fill Physics teacher role. Until this point they had always used TES for such roles, however in this instance felt they needed a different approach and looked to other education recruitment specialists. Jenny-Anne Bell, PA to the Headmistress, contacted Eteach to discuss the possible options.
The Solution
After a discussion with our recruitment specialists, Jenny-Anne understood that by placing an advertisement with Eteach she would be able to monitor the exact response, include her school logo and information on the Eteach jobs board, host any supporting documentation and use her own familiar application form.
Understanding this role falls into a ‘hard to fill’ position, the Eteach consultant also set expectations with Jenny-Anne, explaining that progress reports would be provided each week to monitor the performance of the job ad. After this conversation, she chose to place the vacancy on the Eteach website.
The Results
Redmaids' school received a good calibre of responses and were able to shortlist applicants for interview. From this process, the school went on to hire their Physics teacher through their work with Eteach.
Following the success of filling this role, and enjoying the Eteach process, in January 2015 Jenny-Anne felt confident using us again for a second role; An even more challenging Head of Physics role! The quantity, calibre and quality of applications received was excellent once again and from posting the role with us, she was able to interview and appoint.
With two roles successfully filled, in January 2015 Readmaids' school decided they needed a much more permanent solution and decided to take an Eteach annual licence. The annual licence allowed the school to post unlimited teaching and non-academic roles and create an online presence with their own career site dedicated to the recruitment of future staff members.
