Core Tasks2.1 Act as an assessor to a caseload of approximately 40 (pro rata) NVQ/apprentice candidates liaising with appropriate progress and achievement tracker2.2 Participate in the recruitment, selection, enrolment, interviews, induction and review of NVQ/apprentice candidates when necessary2.3 Through assessment and review procedure set challenging targets for NVQ/apprentice candidates to achieve2.4 Plan effectively and assess (as a minimum in line with awarding body recommendations regarding frequency) NVQ/apprentice candidates in their workplace to ensure timely completions2.5 Provide NVQ/apprentice candidates with feedback from assessment2.6 Assist NVQ/apprentice candidates in portfolio preparation and completion2.7 Provide NVQ/apprentice candidates with training as appropriate to the vocational area2.8 Provide appropriate learning support to enable effective assessment2.9 Agree individual planned end dates for apprentices with assessors and programme leaders2.10 Participate in the planning and implementation of schemes of assessment2.11 Assist with internal verifier activities and work effectively with other internal and external verifiers2.12 Attend meetings with other assessors standardise and share good practice2.13 Keep accurate and up to date tracking records of candidate progress and success 2.14 Carry out health and safety checks, equality of opportunity checks, liability insurance and provision of associated information to employers and students as required2.15 Completion of student reviews and liaison effectively with employers and assessors about progress and outcomes as required2.16 Participate in regular meetings with line manager to monitor learner performance2.17 Participate in self assessment activities, including observations of teaching, training and/or assessment and other related activities2.18 Contribute to the collection of informal and formal feedback from students and employers 2.19 Liaise with employers and promote College programmes where appropriate 2.20 Promote the benefits of different programmes to employers, and explain their responsibilities in the learning process2.21 Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality in all Business First activities2.22 Support College policies, procedures and quality assurance systems. To conduct aspects of all duties and responsibilities in line with the Corporation’s Health & Safety Policy in the interests of themselves, other colleagues and students.2.23 Perform such other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade of the post as required by the Principal and Chief Executive.
