We are looking to recruit two full-time Learning Support Assistants to join our exciting and successful school. One post will be class-based in Reception initially, and the second post will be class-based in KS2 am and working 1:1 to support a child with SEND pm.
We have a great mix of children and we have a good reputation for the inclusion of children with special needs, including a number on the autistic spectrum. We have a supportive parent body and huge grounds to make creative use of. We had a very positive Ofsted inspection in March 2018. We are an innovative, confident school with a ‘can do’ attitude.
We require skilled and enthusiastic LSAs who can support teaching and learning and address the personal and individual needs of our pupils. You will need to be a good communicator, cheerful, calm, resilient and able to work as part of a team. Ideally, you will be qualified to at least NVQ2 in a relevant area and have some experience of working in a primary school. Experience and expertise of working with children with SEMH needs or on the autistic spectrum may be advantageous for the SEND element of one of the roles. The class-based roles require candidates that can make a difference: candidates that show initiative and can evidence the value that they bring to the classroom. The Reception classroom will be using a ‘Planning in the Moment’ approach to the Foundation Stage curriculum – are you sufficiently imaginative and adaptable to help make this system work?
Both roles are temporary for one year in the first instance and will be paid on Band B1. The hours of work will be 8.30-3.30 Mon-Fri, term time only. You will not routinely be expected to work Teacher Training Days, but may be invited to do so on occasion and be paid overtime.
Further information about the school can be found by visiting the school website.
Where possible, all correspondence will be done via email so please ensure you include a valid email address on your application.
The closing date for applications is 23rd August 2019 at noon. Interviews will take place during week commencing 2nd September.
We promote diversity and want a workforce which reflects the population of Leeds. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of our pupils and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring check and satisfactory references.
