The purpose of this role is to:
Work closely with teaching staff to ensure students receive high quality support in the 7th Form which will lead to outstanding outcome above sector norms.
Main duties and responsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to:
Facilitate students in the absence of their regular teacher. Supervise students completing tasks which have been set by their teacher.
Monitor and support students carrying out independent work in the 7th Form study centre. Ensure students are on task and are clear what they need to do to improve.
Work with small groups of students as directed by their teacher. Offer individual support to reach their minimum target grade.
Support teaching staff with administration around homework and independent work, such as collating homework tasks.
Be proactive in the day to day running of the 7th Form study centre.
Follow up on learners that have outstanding homework, working with academic staff to ensure support strategies are implemented to support the learner.
Communicate, as required, with other academic/support staff, parents/guardians and employers/external agencies, within limits of Data Protection, in regard to the progress of individual learners.
