ABA Tutor/ASD Teaching Assistant
Temporary, Full Time, Term Time Only
Salary: Grade 5, Points 5-7, £18,795 - £19,554
Actual Salary: £16,138 - £16,790 per annum
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic ABA tutor/ASD teaching assistant to work alongside our SEN team who are trained in ABA approaches.
Bluecoat Primary Academy is an inclusive mainstream primary in heart of Nottingham. It also has a small Focus Provision for children with Autism. It is a nurturing place to work and is still in a period of growth (Bluecoat Primary opening in January 2020). It has developed a strong set of values which are at the heart of its work and there is a clear vision for the future.
ABA is a therapy based on the science of learning and behaviour. The successful applicant will support an Autistic child in Year 1 to learn effectively, inside and outside of the classroom. They will be expected to use ABA principles and techniques to promote the child’s self-control, independence and cooperation through developing their social, emotional and behavioural skills. The successful candidate will work alongside and support the class teacher to ensure that the child is accessing the curriculum and making positive progress in all aspects of their learning. You will liaise closely with school staff, ABA Consultant, family and other agencies to ensure that effective support is delivered, during class or play.

The position is to begin in September 2020 and requires a minimum of a Level 3 qualification and ideally a degree. This is currently a fixed period position dependent on pupil need.
