Academic Instructor Pre 16
Actual Annual Salary: £ 20,484 - £22,012 pa based on 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
FTE Salary: £23,937 - £25,722 pa
To provide learning support to individual students or small groups in class or in separate sessions. To deliver short courses during tutor time, arrange enrichment activities and provide ongoing pastoral support as required.
To support individual students or small groups as required.
To support all identified Pre 16 students in class with their work, as directed by the classroom teacher.
To impart subject knowledge and skills to individual students as needed.
To support the development of students’ ICT skills as appropriate.
To record student progress and record relevant information on promonitor.
To attend review meetings with course teachers, parents and the pre 16 co-ordinator.
To assist some students in access arrangements for exams.
Responsibility for delivering short courses within the tutorial scheme of work.
Invigilating exams and controlled assessments as required.
Development of appropriate pre 16 enrichment activities.
To organise and supervise drop in sessions for academic support, liaising with the ALN team if further specialist support is required.
To provide appropriate personalised pastoral support and guidance to approx. 50 Pre 16 students (effective signposting) and working with other agencies as required.
Support the Pre 16 students in the transition into college.
You are required to have a Level 2 or higher qualification in English and Maths and a Level 4 Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards.
We would expect you to have knowledge of safeguarding for young people and vulnerable adults together with experience of working with young people in educational or other settings.
