Fixed Term Secondment Opportunity
The Governors of Watermore Primary School are seeking a suitable candidate as an Acting Headteacher or as an Acting Executive Headteacher from 1st January 2021 - 31st August 2021 pending a permanent appointment to the Headteacher post.
We aim to find the right candidate to join our effective school team and lead our school over the Spring and Summer Term. The successful candidate will need to meet one of the following criteria:
•Be an experienced Headteacher that would be interested in a full time secondment
•Already have experience of working as Head of School, Acting Headteacher, or at least five years experience as a Deputy in a large primary school or Federation and would be interested on a full time basis
•Be a serving Executive Headteacher working in a Federation who has the capacity to provide Executive leadership for two terms.
We are open to any of these options and view this as an exciting opportunity for those wishing to broaden their leadership experience, and continue our school improvement journey wthin the current context of COVID. In return we can offer a supportive and effective governing body, a committed and enthusiastic staff team, and professional development opportunities.
Any interested candidates must obtain approval from their line manager and/or Governing Body before making an application. The pay range for the post is dependent on the type of applications we receive. If you are interested in the Executive Head option the salary would be negotiated in conjunction with your existing governing body who would determine with HR support an appropriate salary, Watermore would then be invoiced for your time.
If you would like to be considered for this post, please submit an expression of interest not exceeding two sides of A4, outlining your leadership experience to date, your track record of school improvement, why this secondment opportunity is attractive to you and how you would develop a team of people and continue to support the community. Please include details of two referees, which will be sought automatically for all expressions of interest received.
Expressions of interest should be emailed to Chair of Governors, Colin Thompson by noon on Friday 9th October. Governors will consider any applications received on Monday 12th October and will then confirm if you will be invited to a short Teams single interview shortly after this date. Interviews will be held on Monday 19th October .
