Due to an internal promotion, we have a new vacancy in our administration office. We are looking to appoint a reliable, enthusiastic, competent and adaptable person to join the Alun School’s administrative team. The administrative assistant will be required to undertake a variety of duties in the busy School Office. Applicants should have a good standard of education (NVQ 2 or equivalent) and good numeracy, literacy and keyboard skills, including experience of using ICT packages (e.g. word, databases, spreadsheets. email, etc.). The ability to relate to both children and adults is essential. Experience of clerical/administrative work is essential. Previous experience of working in a school environment and knowledge of SIMS system would be an advantage. The successful candidate should also be willing to undertake a First Aid qualification.
The Alun School, which is situated twelve miles from the historic city of Chester, is a co-educational comprehensive school with 240+ in each year group and a Sixth Form of almost 400 students. Our school offers an extremely supportive environment in which to work. Students are enthusiastic to learn, and behavioural issues are managed very successfully through our strong House system. We have a diverse programme of extra-curricular activities and relationships with parents are very good. All members of staff are very positive about their school and staff turnover is very low.
