Grangetown is a happy, welcoming, inclusive and diverse school in the heart of Cardiff. Following the retirement of the present Additional Learning Needs Coordinator, the Governing Body are seeking to appoint an inspirational and outstanding practitioner. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the success of the school, and they will be integral to our future development as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. As such, a proven ability to lead, inspire and motivate others is crucial. The person appointed will help guide and develop all aspects of inclusive practice. You will have an excellent knowledge of ALNET and how this relates to Wales’ National Mission. This will be coupled with a strong sense of compassion and empathy for children and families’ in need. You will be fully committed to the principles of the ALNET Act, and this will be underpinned by an excellent knowledge of child development, additional learning needs, and the key ways every child can be supported in school to achieve all they are capable of. Our school is committed to inclusive practice; we are committed to excellence and well-being; and we believe every child matters and matters equally. You must also share this commitment and belief.
You must be a skilled communicator, able to work confidently with professionals from a range of other services and build strong relationships with these partners.
