Technician in Animal Care
Full Time, 37 hours p/week
£16,928 per annum

We are currently looking to recruit an Animal Care Technician to join our Lackham Campus team supporting students in our animal care provision. The main purpose of this role is to maintain our range of animals and facilities at the Lackham Animal Resource Centre and to guide and support students in the same. Our animals are fundamental to our teaching quality and our student progression; and you as a successful technician can be a part of that journey.
You will need to be motivated and organised, have experience in and a good knowledge of, animal care and welfare. A flair for enclosure maintenance is highly desired. You must be able to work closely with students, inspiring and motivating them to achieve. You will need to be reliable and trustworthy, work in a professional manner and be able to include a weekend day in your work pattern contributing to the maintenance and improvement of the high standards already achieved in the animal centre.

Early in 2017 the College was awarded more than £20million of government Local Growth Fund money via the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP) to invest in its Salisbury and Lackham campuses. The plans include redeveloping the Salisbury campus and introducing a new Life Science curriculum there, while Lackham will see the construction of an Agricultural Technology Centre and the introduction of a higher education centre which will house incubation space for land-based businesses.
