AOLE Lead for Maths and Numeracy
This appointment is a key moment in the development of the school. The successful candidate will need to have the necessary drive and determination to make bold decisions and ensure that the needs of the pupils within Brecon High School are fully met. In addition, a key area of the role will be to provide staff with support and guidance in order for them to ensure that the Maths and Numeracy Faculty achieve the best outcomes for all learners.
The role will involve three main elements: (1) providing strategic leadership to the Maths and Numeracy Faculty, ensuring that pupils make expected levels of progress within each Key Stage, (2) support and challenge teachers to ensure that they are adhering to all school policies and are striving to develop their own professional learning, and (3) leading the development of the ‘What Matters’ statements within the new Curriculum for Wales, assisting the Headteacher and Extended Senior Leadership Team with successfully transitioning to the new Curriculum for Wales.
