Art and Textiles Teacher, Croydon

The school is situated in North Croydon, Outer London and is part of the Manor Trust, a small multi academy trust comprising Norbury High School and Kensington Avenue Primary school - the trust was formed in February 2019. Results in 2021 place the school in the top 10% schools in England for progress and the school was awarded Croydon Secondary School of the Year 2019. Based on the last published performance data (2019) the school is 3rd in the borough and achieved a progress score of +0.66 demonstrating students performed 'well above average' compared to other providers.
Norbury recently secured a Good Ofsted rating. Ofsted found the students to be well behaved, articulate and stated that their confidence shines through. We are a fully inclusive school that is dedicated to both supporting and challenging all members of our diverse community and to develop the potential in all our students, no matter what their starting point.
We are looking for a dynamic teacher of Art and Textiles for our high achieving Art & Design faculty. The ability to teach Art to KS3 and Textiles to KS3 and 4 is essential and with a willingness to teach other subjects within the design and technology carousel if required. Art is studied throughout KS3 and Textiles is a popular KS4 and 5 option. The Art and Design offer at KS4 and 5 includes the endorsements of Fine Art, Graphic Communication and Photography. We are an extremely well equipped department and have dedicated Art studios, DT Workshops and Food Tech kitchens within the faculty.
