Art Tutor - Botanical Illustration
Salary: £23.61 - £26.17 per hour

About the role
We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and innovative staff to teach in Botanical Illustration for 2 hours a week during term time. The Botanical Illustration Art Tutor role will ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as set by the service/ your manger, for Achievement, Attendance and Progression are met. The successful candidate will assist in the promotion of the course by providing course information in a timely manner which is used for publication and advice to prospective learners.
The role will consist of the following:
- Planning the course including preparation of appropriate materials,
- Producing appropriate service documentation including scheme of work, lesson plan, class profile, ILPs and tutor course reviews, which are required to be submitted to your line manager
- Regularly assessing learners’ work and marking classwork/ homework where appropriate
- Providing constructive developmental feedback on work including spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Requirement to attend staff development activities, one to one meetings, team meetings and Annual Staff Conference and to adopt best practice in teaching and learning
You will demonstrate relevant working experience in the designated subject area and hold appropriate qualifications. For tutors, our desired requirement for these posts is a teaching qualification - Cert Ed, C&G 7407, DTLLS, PGCE, Award or Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent. However, tutors without a teaching qualification will also be considered.
You will have an enthusiastic approach to personal and professional development and to develop and support that of colleagues, who also has the ability to be self-critical and to identify strengths and areas for development.
You will have the ability to maintain and manage course files, schemes of work, lesson plans and other associated documentation in a well-organised and timely way. To maintain rigorously, accurate and full information on learners and their progress, also having experience of meeting curriculum, area and service targets. Having awareness of health and safety responsibilities within the classroom and also possessing good organisational skills.
