With superb facilities, a beautiful working environment, a reputation for pastoral and extra-curricular excellence and an idiosyncratic heritage, Wycliffe is a special place to work.
For a small to medium-sized school, Wycliffe has a well-deserved reputation for punching well above our weight across a wide range of sports. Reporting to the Director of Sport, the Assistant Director will play a leading role in the development of all areas of Wycliffe sporting activity (e.g. strategy, ethos, coaching, operations, fixtures, facilities etc). The ‘span’ of this role covers both Prep and Senior Schools.
The successful candidate will not be expected to be a qualified teacher nor to teach curriculum PE (nor any other ‘academic subject’); the principal focus of the role is on Games and on Sport in its widest sense. However, we would be open-minded about accommodating a current teaching professional (PE or other mainstream curriculum subject) who expressly wanted to retain a reduced teaching timetable as part of the overall role.
Accommodation (suitable for a single person or for a couple) may be available for an exceptional candidate for the first year in post to facilitate moving to the area.
Wycliffe is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and an enhanced DBS check is required before any appointment is confirmed. We are an equal opportunities employer.
