As one of the biggest charitable organisations in the East Midlands, Autism East Midlands offer a wide range of services supporting people affected by Autism, including family services, a specialist school (4-19yrs), a range of 14 day and residential services for our adult service users across Nottinghamshire.
We are currently seeking to employ an Assistant Psychologist to work as part of the Therapeutic and Psychology Service within our Children’s and Young People’s Service at Sutherland House School, Nottingham and within the Elizabeth Newson Centre. The Centre sits within Sutherland House School and and provides diagnostic assessments for children with complex social communication disorders.
The Therapeutic and Psychology Service currently includes Speech Therapy, Clinical & Educational Psychology including Psychology Assistants and Occupational Therapy. The team is an established, supportive, friendly and highly valued service within the school. Professional and Clinical supervision is integral to our approach. We are looking for someone with experience of children, an interest in special needs, autism and a multi disciplinary approach. You will need to have good skills in observation and assessment and the ability to encapsulate these in user friendly written reports. You will also require good interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a range of professionals, parents, carers and students with diverse needs.
