Alderman Knight is a maintained special school for children and young people with a range of needs, aged 7 to 19. During the last 10 years the school has undergone a complete new build for all phases. The final phase of our school building will be opened in June 2021 ready for September 2021. The school will have approximately 220 Pupils & Students and just over 100 staff by next year.
The school is for children and young people whose primary needs have been identified as:
• Communication and Interaction, and
• Cognition and Learning
They may also have associated complex learning needs and this results in a wide attainment range. In Key Stage 2 pupils are generally working within the higher P levels and KS1 age related expectations. However, across the secondary phase attainment can reach KS3 age related expectations and at KS4 pupils achieve a wide range of accreditations including Entry Levels, Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications and GCSEs. Some of our pupils will move into our Post 16, if it is appropriate for them. In KS5, students have the opportunity to study at a higher level and extend the range of accreditations they have in preparation for colleges courses, apprenticeships of employment. Some students in KS5 have the opportunity to study Level 3 qualifications through attending classes at Tewkesbury Secondary school.
The Governors are looking to appoint a dedicated, experienced, confident and effective Assistant School Business Manager to support the continued growth of the school at this successful special school. We believe this position to be the perfect opportunity for a current School Business Manager / School Office Manager to join our supportive team to work closely with the school’s Business & Operations Manager. Applications from staff currently working in mainstream and special schools are very welcome. This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, term time only, plus 15 days during the school holidays, to be agreed with the Business & Operations Manager.
We can offer a strong and focused leadership team, with a supportive Governing Body, who maintain high standards in all that they do. This is a very exciting time to be joining our school as we come to the end of our expansion projects. Our ideal candidate will be someone who welcomes the challenge of assisting the Business & Operations Manager implement change.
