We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Assistant SENDCo to be responsible for the identification and support of students with Special Education Needs. Working alongside the Assistant Principal for SEND and the SENDCo, the successful applicant will work with students, families, teachers and external agencies to support SEND students to access the curriculum, engage fully with wider aspects of school life and achieve positive outcomes.
The successful applicant will ideally have previous experience of working with young people, preferably in a secondary school environment. They should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of communicating effectively with students and parents.
- Knowledge of strategies which remove barriers to learning and promote engagement with the curriculum.
- The skills needed to support young people who are experiencing difficulties with their learning.
- Strong skills in record keeping and the use of IT.
