Behaviour Support Assistant

Bedminster Down School is looking for an excellent behaviour support assistant to join our pastoral and behaviour team. You will be a key member of our team with a vital role to work with individual students and small groups to support and develop positive behaviours both in and outside school. Every day will be different, but you will know you are making a direct and positive impact on the lives of our young people and their families. This is an exciting time to join the school, a time when additional pressures and difficulties for our most vulnerable students mean that the work of our pastoral and behaviour teams are more important and are having even more impact on our students and families.
Our pastoral and behaviour policies are well established with a proven record of success and this post arises from team members being successful in securing career progression. You will be joining a small hardworking team where you will need to be adept at working both as part of a wider system and independently using your own initiative always looking to improve. You will have a voice in the team that feeds into strategy decisions for the school.

We operate a "Ready to Learn" behaviour system in the school and classroom behaviour is exceptional - allowing teachers to focus on providing high quality learning opportunities. The pastoral, behaviour and senior teams ensure that any low level disruption is dealt with rapidly and effectively, giving teachers the chance to spend their work time on planning and delivering lessons which will maximise students progress.
