We are looking for passionate and inspiring qualified Play Leader to join our supportive and talented team at Summerhill Academy. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning. This role will be 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday and it is term time only + 5 inset days.
What we are looking for:
To be successful in the post, we are looking for a charismatic individual who wants to become a part of a fun Breakfast Club that can bring passion and energy to children’s’ evenings, is able to help lead a team of play workers and use initiative to assist in the day to day running of the club and will make an active contribution to the development of the Cabot Learning Federation and Summerhill Academy.
The Play Leader will be responsible for the day to day management of play provision for children outside of Academy hours. They will lead a quality playcare service responsive to the needs of children and their parents and within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures.
Brief outline of duties:
Assist in leading the breakfast club
Converse and build professional relationships with the parents of children who attend the breakfast club. Also giving feedback on the behaviour of children to their parents.
Watching over and observing the behaviour of children.
Keeping a safe working environment for both staff and children looking out for obstructions and hazards.
Keeping on top of the washing/drying up once the children have eaten.
Providing snack for the children to eat (this will sometimes include toasting breads and serving meats such as ham and chicken).
Leading fun game sessions, joining in with dancing and playing with toys to engage children.
Arrange cover for any staff absences
Giving instruction to children.
