North Star 82⁰ is the primary provision of North Star Academy Trust, based in North Bristol, and specialising in supporting pupils experiencing Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. We aim to be part of a joined-up provision offering our pupils the outstanding education they deserve.
We are seeking to recruit a reliable, enthusiastic and efficient Caretaker to be responsible for maintaining our school premises.
You will be required to work up to 37 hours per week. The shift pattern will be discussed at interview. You will be entitled to 24 days holiday per annum (pro rata for part-time), to be arranged by prior agreement, plus bank holidays. Your main place of work will be at North Star 82°, but you will be required to work at other locations within the Trust.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in the smooth running of our school, with responsibility for ensuring our site is legally compliant, well maintained, safe and fit for purpose at all times. The main duties will be to co-ordinate the security of the school buildings, carry out a program of maintenance work and monitor the repair and maintenance work of contractors in order to maintain our school premises to a high standard. Ideally you will have some handyman experience in a similar role or are able to demonstrate the capability to carry out basic maintenance and DIY tasks, and an awareness of Health and Safety within the workplace.
