Hours: 30 hours per week, all year round. This will be set up as two separate 15 hour per week contracts, one for each school. Working 6hrs per day, the hours of work will be 7am-10am and 3pm-6pm.
Salary: Grade 11 (£15,239 - £15,544 per annum).
New Siblands School and Gillingstool Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and responsible Caretaker for their shared site in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire. The site includes many state-of-the-art features and facilities including a swimming and hydrotherapy pool, sensory studios, specialist hygiene rooms and pupil hoists.
Able to work flexibly and unsupervised, you will be self-motivated, have good communication skills, with a driving licence and basic DIY and IT skills.
You will be responsible for ensuring that both schools remain clean, safe and secure for all our pupils, staff and visitors. This will involve carrying out a range of repairs and maintenance tasks including: carrying out daily checks of the swimming pool (full training will be provided); cleaning; adhering to health and safety legislation and carrying out compliance and statutory checks. Induction training will be provided.
You will be the main key holder for the site with responsibility for the daily unlocking/locking of the premises. (You will also be a key holder for the New Siblands Secondary site).
In addition, there will be the expectation for additional hours to be worked on an overtime basis for evening lock-ups after meetings or regular lettings with external users and any occasional weekend lettings or school functions.
Note: New Siblands will require the post holder to cover the unlocking and locking of their secondary site or to assist the Caretaker there with tasks as required.
It is expected that annual leave will be taken during school holidays.
