Salary: £9.00 per hour (plus payment in lieu of holiday entitlement)
Hours: Casual, term time only
Winterbourne Academy are looking to add to their casual bank of dedicated Examination Invigilators, to provide supervision of internal and external examinations during exam periods throughout the academic year.
Tasks include preparing exam rooms, distributing papers and stationery, advising candidates of exam conditions, observing students during the exam and ensuring that all regulatory requirements are adhered to. After the exam the postholder(s) are responsible for collecting exam materials and leaving exam rooms tidy.
The post would be ideally suited to applicants who feel a sense of responsibility for today's young people and who are able to work flexible daytime hours. The successful candidates will be calm, organised and approachable with a key role in upholding the integrity of the examination process.
Exams Invigilators need to be reliable and punctual, empathetic towards our students and be able to follow instructions. Often unexpected situations arise during exams so a flexible approach and ability to switch priorities, is essential.
Candidates will be employed on a casual basis, with hours and days of work subject to the timings of each exam. The preparation for exams can start at the beginning of the academy day and on occasions exams can continue after the academy day has finished. Casual Exams Invigilators can choose to work mornings, afternoons or both.
All Exams Invigilators are contacted prior to the exam period to identify individual availability in relation to the examination timetable. A committed approach to the allocated dates is vital.
The successful candidates will work under the direction of the Exams & Data Officer and Exams Officer & Admin Assistant. Full training will be provided.
The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Candidates for vacant posts are expected to share this commitment. All appointments will be subject to vetting, including an enhanced DBS check.
The Academy is committed to ensuring equal opportunities, fairness of treatment, dignity, work-life balance and the elimination of all forms of discrimination in the workplace for all staff and job applicants.
