Working hours are 7.30am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday in school term time only.
About the Job
LET'S START WITH BREKFAST! - preparing and serving breakfast to give our pupils a great start to their day. Clearing and cleaning the kitchen
PREPARATION, PREPARATION, PREPARATION – with the rest of the catering team helping our Chef to prepare freshly made meals each day – there will be a lot of peeling, chopping and slicing of fresh ingredients.
The MAIN EVENT – serving the children their lunch. You must be friendly, patient and accommodating at all times.
The BIG TIDY – as with all kitchens after everybody has eaten there is a lot of cleaning and washing up to do to ensure that our kitchen meets the highest possible standards of cleanliness and hygiene and is ready for the next day’s service.
- Ideally have previous experience of providing catering in a similar environment
- Enjoy working in a busy and productive environment
- Be able to work using your own initiative
- Be able to work to and meet deadlines
- Thrive on working as part of a team
- Be self-motivated to always do the best job you can
- Be physically able to stand for long periods of time and lift and carry heavy objects
You must be willing to undertake training and achieve the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Food Safety and Health and Safety.
