CCF School Staff Instructor (SSI) and Outdoor Pursuits Coordinator
Required for 19th April 2021 (although a later start date may be possible for the right candidate) – This position is based at Monmouth School for Boys.
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced, inspirational and self-motivated CCF School Staff Instructor (SSI) for our highly successful and nationally recognised Combined Cadet Force. The principal role will be to organise and deliver military training to the Army and RAF sections in our CCF and to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the contingent. Candidates should have experience of regular or reserve force service.
This is a full-time position with some weekend work required.
The salary for this position is payable at Band 7/8 on the Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools salary scale £28,997 per annum to £32,487 per annum pro rata depending on experience and qualifications. The MoD will pay 51 days volunteer allowance for weekend and additional training / duties, current daily rate of pay is £74.80 and is subject to the annual MoD pay review.
MoD Rules state that the SSI must live within 20mins traveling time of the school to be able to respond to alarms. Therefore any successful candidate may have to relocate. School accommodation may be available to rent.
The Outdoor Pursuits Coordinator will be responsible for all outdoor pursuit activities run by the school including the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme across both senior schools.
