Our Lady of Lourdes Multi-Academy Trust wishes to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and committed Maintenance Officer to join our friendly and dedicated Estates team. The Trust comprises 21 schools and a central administration facility spread over 23 sites across the county of Nottinghamshire. Your daily workflow will be varied and may take to you to any one or more of our sites. You will work for the benefit of all our children and young people and will provide a first-class customer-oriented service.
Reporting to, and under the direction of, the Trust Maintenance Manager, you will work a basic 37 hour week, will work remotely and will be responsible for the supervision and development of an apprentice engineer. This post would suit an applicant with a general background in building or facilities maintenance with the ability to perform a broad range of tasks to a high standard along with a high level joinery skills. A company vehicle, tools and equipment are provided.
This is an exciting role focussing on the maintenance and development of Trust assets including buildings, structures, roofs, surfaces and finishes, plant and machinery, floors, furnishings, fixtures and fittings and other equipment. You will be a key player in ensuring that buildings and facilities are accessible, maintained in a safe, effective and efficient manner and are suitable for their intended purpose. This role is key to supporting the Trust and in empowering Head teachers to deliver the best possible education by ensuring the reliability, accessibility, safety and suitability of buildings, facilities and assets. The post holder will also assist academy site teams and cover site manager / site technician absences on a first-day basis which may include key-holder, security and general site manager duties.
Experience in an Estates and Facilities maintenance role is essential and experience of working within an education setting across multiple sites is desirable. Initiative and problem-solving skills are key to this role, working proactively as part of a team with a flexible approach to duties and hours. Some early morning, evening and weekend work may be required within your basic 37 hour week.
