Woodlands High School is part of a new Federation where three special schools have federated and have begun their exciting new journey. The position will be primarily based at Woodlands High School; however, the newly appointed member of staff would be employed by the Federation.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Woodlands High School for an enthusiastic and committed, suitably qualified and experienced teacher to join our team from January 6th 2020. This post has become available due to the present class teacher going on maternity leave. The successful candidate will work as part of a team and be responsible for a form which will include pupils from a variety of ages (between 11 and 19) who need a Total Communication and sensory approach.
This post requires a level of specialist expertise, together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to design, adapt and teach effective lessons that provide our pupils with engaging activities. It would offer an opportunity for individuals who wish to extend and enhance their professional development within the field of speech, language and communication difficulties (SLCD).
The successful candidate will:
• have extensive knowledge and experience of working with children with Additional Learning Needs
• have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• be able to establish excellent working relationships with children, parents, staff and outside agencies
• significantly contribute to the ethos and values of our school
• have commitment, be highly motivated and be able to contribute to our dedicated and enthusiastic team
• be an excellent classroom practitioner who inspires and leads children to reach their full potential through high quality learning experiences
