Littledown School is a small (38 place) special school and (15 place) alternative provision for primary aged pupils (4-11yrs) with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Part of the school’s remit is to develop a continuum of provision and support for primary-aged pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties across the local authority
Our most recent section 5 Ofsted report (July 2017) states that:
Teachers encourage pupils to show independence and to take responsibility for their own behaviour. Relationships are very positive. This helps to ensure that pupils rightly feel well supported when faced with completing challenging work. Teachers are skilled and know their pupils exceptionally well.
We are looking to appoint a confident, dynamic and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our highly dedicated staff team. The prospective candidate should ideally have experience of working with SEMH pupils, preferably in a special school environment, and be passionate about teaching to achieve excellence in education in a challenging but extremely rewarding environment.
The role will be to teach and be responsible for the planning, organisation, delivery and assessment of the Primary Curriculum in Key Stages 1 and 2.
• A challenging but happy positive caring ethos and working atmosphere

If you are committed to inclusion for all, and have the resilience and enthusiasm to contribute to the ongoing development of this successful, friendly, fun and supportive school, we would like to hear from you.
