Classroom Support Assistants required from start of the Autumn Term
Birkett House is a very popular and successful all age special school for pupils with learning difficulties. We are a multi-sited school in South Leicestershire and we are currently looking for Teaching Assistants based at our main Wigston site from the start of academic year 2019/20. Candidates need to be aware that we also have an inclusion department at Thomas Estley Community College & a senior site based in Countesthorpe.
A Teaching Assistant is an integral member of a class team and works under the direction of a teacher supporting groups of children across a department. This is an exciting opportunity to join an outward-looking school and to contribute to the development of special education in Leicestershire. Salary Starting Salary grade 5, point 7, pro rata based on 32.5 hours per week and term time contract - actual salary starts at £13,784. (F.T.E. £18,426)

The closing date for applications will be 9am Monday, 24th June 2019 and candidates will know if they have been shortlisted on that day. Shortlisted candidates will be expected to spend at least ½ day in school between Tuesday, 25th June and 4th July 2019 and the interview date which will be Friday, 5th July 2019. The visit does form part of our interview procedure.
