The Bishop of Llandaff is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school serving the Christian and non-Christian communities within the city and surrounding areas including The Vale of Glamorgan, Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Bridgend. About the role
The Marion Centre is a specialist resource base, which supports students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The centre was set up in 2009 and moved to a £5m purpose built building in 2013. We have an excellent team of teaching and support staff who provide all students with a very high quality of education.
At present there are approximately 55 students within the centre. Nearly all students are taught exclusively by centre staff. Upon transfer to secondary school, many students are functioning at P scale levels within National curriculum. Therefore, these students receive a specialist curriculum in place to support their individual needs and pathway. The successful post holder will be responsible for an individual class and address the needs of students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning. The post would suit an individual with experience of working with students with additional learning needs in either a primary or secondary setting. All new members of staff receive a very strong programme of induction, which includes an allocated member of staff to support with the operational elements of joining a new school, as well as a tailored support package to meet individual needs.
