The Governors of Coombe Hill Infants School would like to appoint a highly organised and self-motivated clerk to join our school. The Clerk is accountable to the Governing board, working effectively with the chair of governors, and with the Headteacher and other governors.
The clerk to governors will ensure the smooth running of the governing board: preparing agendas and meeting papers, taking and distributing minutes, giving administrative support, keeping records and up to date information on policies and date of reviews, and providing procedural and legislative advice to the governing board. They must have excellent organisational, communication and ICT skills, and will understand the confidential nature of the post and be willing and able to adhere to codes of conduct in this respect.
This is a part time role, covering five full Governing Board (FGB) meetings and approximately 10 committee meetings per school year. Meetings are held in term time, the majority of which are held in the evenings at 7.30pm or during the school day. This is a flexible role and whilst the meeting dates are set in the calendar, the wrap around admin support can be done at times to suit the Clerk. The estimated hours for the role are approximately 20 hours a month during the school year.
All hours will be recorded and claimed on a time basis.
The successful candidate would be inheriting an extremely well managed system and would be able to follow well-established procedures.
Interested candidates are most welcome to visit the School and should contact the School Office.
Coombe Hill Infants' School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
