An exciting opportunity has arisen at Greenmeadow Primary School for the position of Clerk to Governors. The Clerk to the Governing Body holds a key role in the governance of the school and is accountable to the Governing Body, working effectively with the Chair of Governors, the Headteacher, governors and school staff.
We are looking for a Clerk who is proficient in clerking meetings, able to co-ordinate the Governors’ diary and agendas, as well as keeping up to date with policy and Government changes. The Clerk will need a good knowledge of the Clerk’s role and be able to deal with matters confidentially in line with data protection and safeguarding legislation. They will provide advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters and be the official channel of communication to and from the governing body and the school. Candidates should be competent in the use of IT, email and internet as the Governor Hub is used to share paperwork with the Governing Body.
The post is for 115.5 hours per annum to cover the roles and responsibilities of the post including preparation, attendance, minutes and follow up work for meetings. There are additional hours within the contract to cover liaising with Governor Support, distribution/administering of Governor information and attending training/support/review meetings. A schedule of evening meetings for the year will be agreed in advance.

We are looking for a candidate who is efficient, well-organised and ambitious for our school.
The right candidate will have:
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
- A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
- The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
