We currently have an opportunity for a professional Clerk to represent two School Standards Boards within our Banbury cluster of schools. Within the cluster there are 4 schools; Longford Park Primary, William Morris Primary, Hardwick Primary and our brand new school Cherryfields Primary and between the 4 schools there are 2 School Standards Boards that both require a clerk.
Please note, to avoid any conflict of interest, the individuals will need to be independent from the school they will be placed in.
A great opportunity to use your organisation skills to make a difference to the outcomes for our children. At GLF our local governance structure is customised for our Multi Academy Trust. Each of our schools has a distinct character and culture to meet the needs of its community and context. We recognise the value of retaining a local governance committee for our schools and call these committees School Standards Boards.
Ideally the successful candidate will have previous clerking experience.
About the Banbury Cluster
Consisting of four schools, the Banbury cluster has a collaborative approach towards working, which means the schools can work closely together to provide an outstanding educational experience to the local communities. The schools benefit from being able to share resources and support each other where needed. Longford Park (Nursery to Year 3) and Cherry Fields (Nursery to Reception) are exciting, brand new schools. Hardwick is a fantastic, established one form entry primary school and William Morris is an outstanding, one form entry primary school.
What we are looking for
The successful applicant will have a genuine interest in school governance, ensuring they keep abreast with current educational developments and legislation affecting schools as well as knowing about how governance works in GLF. A clerk must be independent, a person of integrity with strong interpersonal skills, organisational skills and a positive attitude.

- Confident in communicating with all levels.
- Able to remain professional when handling confidential material.
- Knowledgeable about governance procedures and educational legislation and guidance and/or willingness to develop knowledge.

Hours: The hours of work are as follows;
SSB 1 - 115 hours across 38 weeks of the year (including attendance to 6 x 2 hour meetings - 2 per term)
SSB 2 - 102 hours across 38 weeks of the year (including attendance to 6 x 2 hour meetings - 2 per term)
Total hours: 217 hours
Salary: £25,607 – £30,000
Pro-rata salary: £3,405 - £3,989
