Communication Support Worker
Part time maternity cover until December 2021
Hourly Paid contracts available
£19.72 per hour
We are looking for qualified CSW’s whom have all the key skills required to provide support to our Deaf/Hard of hearing learners in all aspects of college life. You will be working closely with the other members of the team to create individual support plans for our students to enable them to fully engage with their learning opportunities and college social opportunities too in addition to completing any reports and CPD when requested. You will provide communication support for individual or groups of students with hearing difficulties and will support learners to access the curriculum and other areas of college life.
The successful candidate will hold the necessary qualifications and requirements listed below, however all candidates will undertake an assessment process which will include:
• Note-taking & Modification assessment
• Signing skills both receptive and productive as well as adaptability assessment
• Level 3 certificate in British Sign language qualification (Level 2 would be considered)
• Approved qualification as a CSW with Deaf People
• 2 years general work experience of working with deaf students in schools, adult education, or voluntary/charitable organisations
