Hours: 25 hours per week, term time only plus INSET days and an additional 2 weeks to be worked during school holidays
The Olympus Academy Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Governance and Compliance Officer to drive positive change, creating a compliance and risk aware culture across all Schools within the Trust. This role is offered on a part time basis, working 25 hours per week, term time only, plus Inset days and an additional 2 weeks of cover during the school holidays, totalling 41 weeks of the year. The actual take home salary will be £19,465.18 per annum.
This is a newly created role and the successful candidate will ensure that the Trust is conducting its business in full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations that pertain to the education sector, as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and internal standards (including GDPR).
This role will also be responsible for advising the Trust Board on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework. They will secure the continuity of Board business and observe confidentiality requirements. In addition, the Governance and Compliance Officer will be the first point of contact for all external complaints to the Trust and will be responsible for coordinating the process and involvement of relevant stakeholders to ensure correct governance and policy is applied to ensure swift and effective resolution.
This role requires someone with a proven track record of working within a risk, compliance, governance or complaint handling role. You will act as the Trust’s Information Security Officer therefore a strong knowledge of GDPR and other relevant legislation is essential.
You will carry out audits, investigations, mock inspections and provide advice on regulations and standards pertaining to the education sector, implementing and managing appropriate and robust processes and practise to ensure continued adherence to these regulations.
