Counsellor (Part-time/Term-time only) - Cardiff
St. David’s is a popular and over-subscribed Sixth Form College providing high quality education for 16-19 year olds within Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. In our most recent Estyn inspection we were graded ‘excellent ‘for ‘current performance’ and ‘prospects for improvement’.
This role will support and work with the Learning Support Team and the Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer in providing an ethical, confidential and professional counsel to students. You will hold a minimum of a Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy, have excellent communication skills and be able to provide efficient and appropriate administration systems and documentation. The ability to provide a range of counselling techniques encompassing a client-centred, holistic approach is essential, along with a willingness to deliver workshops and an enthusiasm in being part of a proactive team. It is also essential to have had experience of working with young people with mental health issues including depression/anxiety, suicidal thoughts and self-harm, and to understand that the counselling service is a finite resource so you must be able to prioritise according to need.

The position is part-time during term-time only on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (41.12% FTE) and attracts a salary between £25,543 - £28,758 (Pro Rata)
