This is a new position in the Faculty of English, Maths and Digital Skills in light of a new and ambitious business strategy which seeks to achieve growth through strategic local partnerships.
The ideal candidate will maintain and build strong stakeholder relationships understanding the local landscape and ensuring successful integrated delivery of the faculty’s programmes. They will have experience of securing and developing high value partnerships and develop these important relationships, paired with the ability to lead when necessary in terms of presentations to partners and internal groups, and develop a deep understanding of client needs through a consultative approach and designing credible solutions which meet partners’ needs.
Organisation and effective communication skills are essential to ensure the efficient management of resources and the development of productive relationships both within the department, the wider College and with external stakeholders.
The postholder will be required to work with the Head of Faculty to line manage teachers and support staff, plan, organise and manage a range of programmes across the specific curriculum area in line with the curriculum specialism and taking into account the College strategic priorities, to ensure an excellent learner experience is provided.
There will be some teaching attached to the post, the teaching load will be reviewed annually. Teaching duties will be aligned to the School / Team Quality Improvement Plan; College strategic priorities and the Role of the Professional Teacher document.
The role of this post is to plan, organise, co-ordinate programmes and line manage staff in line with the college's strategic priorities and to deliver an excellent learner experience.
The successful candidate must have experience of planning and developing curriculum programmes within their subject discipline, with good communication and organisational skills. Teaching experience is also required, together with evidence of continuous professional development.
We would welcome applications from candidates with a broad base of experience in English or Maths. A degree, or equivalent professional qualification, is required for this post, as well as a recognised teaching qualification (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) or equivalent) with Level 5 subject specialism. A Literacy/English, ICT and a Numeracy/Maths qualification at Level 2 are also required.
