We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of Department to join our Creative Arts team based in Salisbury. Salisbury campus is in the middle of a multi-million pound rebuild project and offers huge scope for the new post-holder to shape our Grade 1 department moving forward.
The main purpose of this role is to play a key role in supporting the Head of Department whilst ensuring that teaching staff are directed and supported with resources to provide high-quality provision. Creative Arts offers Level 1 to Level 6 programmes in Art and Design, Media and Performing Arts. Within this role your main responsibilities will include coordinating and monitoring the work of the campus delivery team and assisting with the development of the curriculum strategy to ensure continuous improvement in the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in Art and Design.
The successful candidate will have worked at a similar level of responsibility previously, will be a qualified teacher and will have substantial teaching experience from within an appropriate art and design subject area, and also have relevant industry experience. You will have experience with different Awarding bodies, particularly UAL, and you will have an excellent teaching grade profile along with experience of professional practice and course/curriculum development. You will possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to implement new systems of working. It is essential that you have knowledge and understanding of a post 16 environment and that you are student focussed and strive for constant improvement in the student experience. The post holder will be expected to take responsibility for the Art & Design Curriculum at Salisbury, undertake and lead on Quality processes for the curriculum area x-campus, take responsibility for our Apprenticeships in Creative Arts, course lead one of our programmes, focus on growth in student numbers and lead on live projects, internal and external exhibitions and community events.
