We are an 11-16 school serving the community of Holywell and its surrounding villages. We are fortunate to be able to teach and learn in a state of the art 21st Century school building, which opened in September 2016. Our unique facilities greatly enhance our journey into the school of choice for the children of Holywell and its surrounding community, and our vision to offer ‘Excellence in Everything’.
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and effective leader with a genuine determination to ensure the highest standards and expectations across all areas of the school. The school has undergone significant changes in recent years and like all schools, now faces the increasing challenges of implementing the new ALN Reform Act from September 2021 and the new Curriculum for Wales from September 2022 amid the unprecedented challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. We are therefore seeking an experienced senior leader with high levels of resilience, energy, drive, and passion to further develop our widely recognised, high quality provision for pastoral care and wellbeing; as well as to make a meaningful contribution to the development of the new Curriculum for Wales. The candidate needs to have significant experience of being an ALNCo in Wales and a proven track record of supporting vulnerable children to achieve recognisable qualifications while developing their abilities to manage any behavioural, emotional and social challenges they may face. The ability to develop and maintain a high performing team that will accelerate the achievement and attainment of our most challenged children will be key to that success.
If you would like to make a real and lasting contribution to the future of the children of Holywell and its surrounding community, we look forward to receiving your application. In addition to completing the Flintshire Application Form, please provide a letter of application of not more than 2 sides of A4 outlining your vision for outstanding inclusion support, teaching and learning, your leadership and management experience to date and what personal skills and attributes you would bring to this position.

Appointment is subject to Disclosure & Barring Service Check and satisfactory references. The closing date for applications: Friday 4th December 2020 at 12.00 p.m.
