We seek an experienced senior leader, with outstanding classroom practice, to assist in leading our successful church school, in collaboration with the Headteacher and our Senior Leadership team. We wish to appoint a dynamic, creative senior leader who is an exceptional team player to cover the maternity leave of our Deputy Head for up to one year.
Our current Deputy Head is embarking on maternity leave and the Governing Body is looking for a Deputy Head who leads by example and possesses the skills, energy, drive and compassion necessary to continue to develop and secure the very best outcomes for all our children.
The governors are keen to support new leaders in their role, providing comprehensive CPD. St Paul’s is a highly regarded, oversubscribed, two-form entry primary school for children aged between 4 and 11 years. As a Church of England school, we are committed to providing all pupils with a strong and creative education within an inclusive and caring environment.
Our children are confident, self-disciplined and enthusiastic. Our staff are loyal, professional and dedicated. Parents and carers are highly supportive and keenly involved in their children’s learning. Our governors provide rigorous challenge and a high level of support to the school.
This is a non class-based role, but there is some aspect of class teaching, across both key stages at intervals through the week.
We are looking for someone who:
- is an excellent classroom practitioner with a clear vision for developing children’s deeper learning
- is passionate about a rich curriculum that engages and motivates all children
- has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, embracing our distinctively Christian vision for primary education
- is a positive role model, with high expectations, for children's learning and behaviour
- is able to inspire, lead, challenge and support school improvement and raising standards
