Early Years/KS1 Teaching Assistant
From September 2023 - NJC Grade 3 (Outer London) - 25 hours per week
We are looking for an Early Years/Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant with a passion for developing and challenging children's learning to work within our well-resourced school.
Smitham is a happy and nurturing school, with high expectations for learning and behaviour. We are a two-form entry Primary school with a Nursery which is being expanded to three forms of entry and two nursery classes. It is set in extensive grounds, which supports our ambitious curriculum delivered through outdoor learning, the Arts and Sport. We are passionate about developing and challenging our children to reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will …
• Have a clear understanding of child development and the expectations of the Early Years and or KS1curriculum
• Be committed to achieving high standards
• Be passionate about supporting the children's learning
• Be energetic, enthusiastic and have a good sense of humour
• Enjoy creating an inspirational and vibrant learning environment
• Work collaboratively and effectively within a year group team
• Recognise children’s barriers to learning and support children in overcoming these
• Have experience of supporting children, including those with a variety of SEN needs
• Have experience of working in partnership with parents
The role is part time: 5 days a week, term time and INSET days
