English & Maths Functional Skills Lecturer
14.8 hours per week
£26,747 - £29,230 per annum, pro rata
Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England.
We are currently looking to appoint a Functional Skills tutor to deliver Level 1 and 2 English and Maths Functional Skills qualifications to our apprenticeship students at our Newton Rigg campus and Hexham centre. This role is integral to the success of our apprenticeship students and requires a high level of planning and communication with other course managers, students and their employer.
Contracted for 14.8 hours per week, (0.4FTE), you will be teaching for approximately 14 weeks during the academic year (Monday to Thursday), with additional hours being utilised for preparation and department duties etc.
This role requires a unique individual who is highly motivated and can form productive positive relationships with apprentices quickly in order to ensure their success. Candidates should hold a teaching qualification and have experience of successfully delivering functional skills qualifications. The teaching weeks are to be agreed with apprentice employers, which allows significant flexibility as to the timing of the teaching weeks, therefore this role would suit an individual who is highly organised, likes variety but not currently seeking a full-time role.
In return, you will receive a generous holiday allowance, ample free parking, canteen facilities and a range of employee benefits.
