We are looking to appoint a temporary Teacher of English, Media and Literacy to cover a maternity leave. The post will commence February 2020 and will be for one year. The successful candidate will have experience of creating and delivering high quality lessons at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 including some experience of teaching Media Studies.
Alongside excellent literacy skills, the candidate must be able to demonstrate a passion for learning and self development, which will fit into a collegiate department that is built around sharing good practice. St Cyres is a school which places a premium on meeting individual students’ needs and challenging every learner, so you will also demonstrate this within your work to date.
Since 2018 the Faculty has been delivering the WJEC Media Studies GCSE and the successful candidate will demonstrate some confidence in preparing a Year 11 class for the summer exams. In addition, there is a requirement for the candidate to show some A Level Media Studies expertise and experience.
This represents an opportunity to gain experience in a high quality learning environment, both in terms of the technology available to support teaching and learning, and the supportive, progressive ethos of the school.
