The School is seeking to appoint an experienced teacher of English, to teach across the three Key Stages. Currently, the department has two full time and three part time members of staff, led by Ms Joanna Jones. Despite the fact that we are a non-selective independent school, learners consistently achieve well above national standards at all levels.
At Key Stage 4, all pupils are entered for WJEC GCSE English Language and English Literature. At Key Stage 5, pupils can choose to study from three WJEC AS/A Level courses: English Literature; English Language and Literature and Film Studies. Applicants will be expected to have a successful record at teaching at least one of these AS/A Level subjects. In addition to English we are looking for someone who is able to teach a second subject.
The successful candidate will be joining an experienced, supportive, dedicated and hard-working team.
The closing date for this position is Monday 17 May 2021. Initial Zoom interviews will take place on Thursday 20 May 2021, with a potential second interview, to take place in School on Tuesday 25 May 2021.
