An exciting opportunity has appeared within Ilminster Avenue E-ACT Academy, who wish to recruit an inspiring Family Support Worker and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join their excellent team. Salary: Scale Point 29, Full Time Equivalent £32,910 (actual salary £29,916.46)

Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to provide a link between school and each pupil’s family, ensuring pupils are safe, have positive sense of well-being and achieve their full potential academically by reducing barriers to learning.
The successful candidate will understand the importance of being able to relate to families, and have an extensive knowledge of child safeguarding procedures. You will provide focused support to families with complex needs, ensuring consistent communication as well as working together with school staff and external agencies to promote positive relationships, therefore the ability to build great working relationships with staff, pupils and parents is a must.
Understanding how attendance and safeguarding interlink with each other us vital within this role, and you will strive towards whole academy attendance target and implement strategies to improve whole school attendance.
