The Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) is a Multi-Academy Trust based in the South West; Bristol and the surrounding areas. We sponsor 18 academies; 9 primaries, 7 secondaries, an all-through academy and a studio school. In addition to our academies, we have 2 internally run alternative provisions, a Post 16 provision, the CLF institute (which delivers training locally and regionally) and our central support team. Together we educate over 11,000 students, employ over 1,700 staff and generate a turnover of £74m.
Our Federation was formed in 2009 and has grown by a number of academies each year. Our core purpose is at the HEART of what we do. We are an innovative and dynamic organisation competing in the ever changing and fast paced education sector.
We are currently recruiting for a qualified accountant to join our Central Finance Team as a Finance Manager and become involved in a wide range of financial and commercial activities. The key purpose of this high profiled, varied and highly visible opportunity will include providing professional financial advice, support and challenge to a number of senior leaders within CLF academies. You will be part of the Finance Manager team of 5, led by the Senior Finance Manager. Your duties will specifically include:-
Lead on the production of detailed monthly financial statements by academies;
Support the development of annual budgets and medium term financial plans;
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of systems, recommending improvements.
Be a passed finalist / qualified accountant
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
Intermediate to advanced excel skills
Educational experience is desirable but not essential. More important, is a flexible approach to competing deadlines, great attention to detail, high standards, and a strong moral purpose, and appreciate the importance of what we do.
