Term time only (30 hours per week) post + 5 staff training days
Actual Starting Salary £12,415 -£13,174 per annum

To enhance our Food Department, we are now seeking a Technician, on a permanent basis, to support our Food teachers. The ideal candidate should have a keen interest in food and nutrition and ideally have experience of working in an educational environment and have a passion for working with young people.
Applicants will need to have Maths and English GCSE(grades A-C) and have good range of IT skills. It would also be an advantage if you have completed a Level 1 & 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certificate or equivalent, however, support will be provided to attain this certificate.
Applicants should also have good organisational and communication skills and be able to priortise in order to support the teaching staff by ensuring that all equipment and resources are prepared in a timely manner ready for teaching.
The post holder will be expected to undertake a wide range of duties including:- preparation of teaching materials, keeping surfaces, cookers, sinks and equipment clean, checking services (gas, electricity and water) and equipment within the classroom is safe and reporting any concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
This is therefore an excellent opportunity for an individual with a flair for food and a passion for helping young people to learn food and nutrition skills.
