The Languages department is a very successful, thriving department and the staff work very closely together. The department is situated in a suite of 3 rooms in the Senior School and 2 rooms in the College. We have Smart boards in each of the rooms and the use of ICT is an integral part of each lesson. All students bring their own devices to lessons and work both electronically and on paper, as directed by their teacher. The department currently has 5 full time members of staff and 2 part time.
We follow the Eduqas examination board at both GCSE and A-level. The success rate at both levels is exceedingly high. Students in Year 7 are taught in three mixed ability classes and study French, Spanish and Welsh. From Year 8 students choose 2 of these languages and also pick up Latin.
