Fancy a relaxing, short-term working holiday, on a stunning Island in the Atlantic Ocean, filled with beaches, a friendly community and a great social environment?
Eteach have a 6 month vacancy (with the potential to be permanent) from January 2021, for a secondary Geography teacher. Heading into turtle season, January is beautiful. There are some great walks around the island as well – the perfect place for those who love their nature.
The school is a very small, family-feel international school following the National Curriculum for England, with only 90 students. With less than 10 students in each class, it is a real tight knit community, where teachers have fantastic relationships with students and are able to teach, rather than crowd control, with such a great student/teacher ratio.
With an article in the Guardian from one of the current teachers, stating that the students are a joy to work with and what a joy it is to work at the school, you can be sure to be joining a wonderful school with a wonderful team, who will really look after you throughout your working holiday.
There are only 800 people on the island, who all smile and wave to each other when passing by, beaches in all directions, very popular for fishing and also voted as one of the best and cheapest places in the world to scuba dive.
With the great social aspect, especially amongst the teachers, you will never be short of things to do with the local bars as well, restaurants and even meals/drinks at each other’s houses over the weekend. It is a slower pace of life on the island – very relaxing and chilled, so you can really take these three months for yourself to enjoy what the island has to offer.
There is a fabulous relocation package for you beyond the norm (you are provided with your own car!) including:
• Food allowance on top of salary
• Accommodation 2-9 minute walk from school, paid for and provided so you don’t have to worry about that and bills are also paid for
• Medical care and insurance
• Additional baggage allowance
Everything is covered so you just have to pack the suitcase and get on the plane!
Food is around 20% more expensive than the UK but that’s all and you are given an extra food allowance – you would expect to pay around £1.50 for a drink at the bar or £3 at the cinema, so you can definitely take advantage and enjoy the lifestyle while you are there.
• Bachelors Degree + Qualified Teacher Status
