Are you passionate about providing professional and high quality clerking services? Looking for a passionate and dedicated Academy Trust which genuinely invests and develops their staff? Then apply today to join Abbey Multi Academy Trust and work with fantastic teams within our academies as a Governance Clerk.
Abbey Multi Academy Trust is seeking to appoint two to three Governance Clerks to deliver high quality clerking services across our eight academies in Leeds and Calderdale and assist our Governance Professional in supporting our Board of Trustees and committees.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established governance team and work flexibly around a calendar of scheduled meetings. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work independently and able to organise their own time whilst working to strict deadlines. The role will include providing advice to governors on constitutional and procedural matters and providing effective administrative support under the guidance of our Governance Professional.
Working hours will be in the region of 48 hours for each board serviced, based on attendance at six meetings per year, preparation time and follow up. A calendar of meetings is published in advance and is available on request. However, a flexible approach to working hours is essential as successful candidates may be required to service additional meetings in order to meet the governance needs of our Trust and its academies or to provide cover for fellow Governance Clerks in their absence. We anticipate that each Governance Clerk appointed will assume responsibility for a minimum of four governing boards or committees but specific arrangements will be discussed and agreed with successful candidates.
What we can offer:
• Friendly, welcoming academies with a strong Christian ethos
• Enthusiastic, well-motivated colleagues
• Supportive senior leaders that can identify development opportunities
