INDEPENDENT CO-OPTED MEMBER, EDUCATION COMMITTEE - VOLUNTARY UNPAID POSITION
The Woodard Academies Trust invites expressions of interest to fill the vacant post of independent member of the Education subcommittee, which reports to the full Board of Trustees. This voluntary role is absolutely crucial to provide challenge and expertise to drive achievement within our 6, nationwide academies.
Now is an exciting time for the Trust as it adopts a new vision statement to underpin the launching of a new strategy. The vision statement is expressed in the following six words: “Opening minds; Increasing expectations; Transforming lives.”
A key priority for the Trust is ensuring that all pupils, regardless of background or where they go to school, aim high and have equal access to a high-quality education which equips them with the knowledge, skills and understanding to realise their ambitions.
The successful candidate will have wide experience across the education sector and possess the skills to offer the support and challenge needed to contribute to constructive discussion and effective decision making. Trustees would particularly welcome expressions of interest from candidates with a background in rapid school improvement or teacher training.
The committee meets five times a year, currently remotely.
